WORLD FILM WINDOW PROGRAMME

Films are shared stories. Shared stories help build a shared society.

The World Film Window Programme gives children the rare opportunity to experience meaningful cinema together — thoughtfully curated for their age and understanding.

The Programme Includes:

• Two specially selected films for each grade every year
• Carefully curated, age-appropriate films from India and around the world
• Exclusive student screenings to preserve the child cultural experience
• Guided reflection and conversations after every screening to deepen understanding, expression, and empathy

Through cinema, children are introduced to diverse cultures, emotions, ideas, and ways of seeing the world — helping them grow not only as learners, but also as thoughtful human beings.

BIRDS & TREES PROGRAMME

Children care for what they feel connected to. Connection begins with noticing.

The Birds & Trees Programme nurtures a deep emotional connection with nature by helping children observe, recognise, and care for the living world around them. Rather than teaching environmental awareness only through information, the programme develops attention, affection, and a sense of responsibility towards nature.

The Programme Includes:

• Discovering and learning the names of local birds and trees
• Simple, child-friendly leaf identification through shape, texture, and colour
• Observing which birds visit which trees and at what time
• Recording observations through sketches, notes, and simple nature journals
• Quiet noticing, listening, and seasonal observation activities within the school environment

Through this programme, children develop love and care for the environment, sharper observation skills, and a growing sensitivity towards living beings beyond humans.

KAVITA KARVAAN PROGRAMME

Language is not only a subject.
It is identity, imagination, thinking, emotion, and inner life.

The Kavita Karvaan Programme is a Hindi poetry-sharing platform designed to help children develop a deep comfort, richness, and expressiveness in Hindi alongside their growth in English. At The Empyrean Academy, we believe that language learning does not compete — it strengthens. A child who grows richer in one language becomes better equipped to learn and express in another.

Through this programme, children experience the beauty, wisdom, rhythm, and emotional depth of poetry while gradually developing listening, expression, literary taste, and confidence in language.

A special feature of the programme is that children explore and present poems written by poets and writers they discover, read, and connect with personally. The emphasis is on reading poetry, enjoying literature, and bringing meaningful poems to others through one’s own voice and expression.

Children May:

• Read a poem
• Recite a poem
• Sing a poem
• Act or dramatise a poem
• Share individually, in pairs, or in groups

There is no pressure, no competition, and no forced memorisation. The focus is on joyful participation, literary appreciation, self-reading habits, listening, expression, and building a lifelong relationship with poetry and language.

This programme is designed for teachers — but its deepest impact is on children.

At The Empyrean Academy, we believe that meaningful education becomes possible when teachers themselves continue to grow as learners, observers, creators, and reflective practitioners. NACE is a year-long continuing professional development programme that supports teachers in exploring the transformative role of the arts in education.

The programme introduces teachers to the possibilities of learning and teaching through performing arts, visual arts, and literary arts, including storytelling, movement, music, dance, drama, drawing, puppetry, and other creative processes at the primary level. Its focus is not only on creative teaching, but also on teaching for creativity — helping classrooms become spaces of curiosity, imagination, participation, expression, and deeper understanding.

Teachers are mentored and trained by highly accomplished experts from the field of arts and education. What they learn is not limited to workshops alone. Teachers implement these ideas in real classrooms, return with their experiences, questions, and challenges, and continue the learning process through reflection, dialogue, and further training. In this way, professional growth becomes continuous, practical, and deeply connected to the everyday life of the classroom.

Through NACE, teachers are constantly equipped with new tools, techniques, perspectives, and approaches to learning. More importantly, they are encouraged to reflect on children more sensitively and to reimagine what meaningful education can look like.

Few schools invest in such sustained and reflective teacher development programmes.
